THE SCHOOL OF TRUTH LECTURE WHOLE LIFE

Two thousand years after the Master's lessons in Truth people are still insecure,

concerned, anxious about their future. They have not ingested the teachings and

still feel isolated from God. They still have a duality-consciousness - God and

themselves. They still find it hard to resolve the personality and the Individuality.

They cannot conceive of the reality that God is in them as them.

In my fifty years in this work of teaching I still hear people say that they pray to

God, and nothing happens. But they still associate the Presence of God with

something outside themselves, not in them, as them. Once you truly accept in mind

and heart that every cell of your being is permeated by Omnipotence and

Omniscience, your fear dissipates back into native nothingness.

During these decades as a student of Truth I have questioned myself: Is God able

to do this for me? Am I deserving of it? How do I know it is His will for me? And I

am constantly uplifted by this affirmation: "My true desire is God's desire for me.

It is the thing itself in incipiency." It is God speaking within his temples, Mind

speaking to the intellect, directing the little self to the Big Self. Thank God I

learned this lesson decades ago: There is only one Source constituting me. I do not

have to ask God for health, happiness and prosperity, because they already are me -

as they are you.

Human behaviour reminds me of a gardener holding a hosepipe praying for water,

but the tap has not been opened. Why is it that man cannot comprehend the great

Truth that God is me, that He permeates me from the centre of my being to the

circumference of my body and affairs, that the wholeness of Omnipresence,

Omnipotence and Omniscience is in my every cell and in your every cell? To

comprehend it we have to use it, have to distribute it. If you love you have to

radiate love, if you want health you must breathe, live and act health, and if you

want prosperity, even if you have nothing, you must start giving.

Decades ago, when I was still very young, and all I had one day was a "half crown"

coin, I said to myself "I dare not limit myself to this amount. I must use it." So I

walked to a certain place about three miles from central Johannesburg where

religious books from overseas were distributed and I said to the receptionist "This

is my offering. It is all I have but I bless it. May it multiply for you." She

responded "In your giving you will be receiving. You will be blessed because you

are giving of yourself, and you will never have nothing."

I take as an affirmation "I dare to act fearlessly and to hope in God." Never impose

a limit on God or yourself, even though you are starving and cannot pay your rent.

Act as though supply is yours. In those days I waited two years for God to guide

me. I felt like shouting "Where is this God in Whom I am trusting? I have isolated

myself from all worldly security. I stand here alone. Where is He?" Then one day I

was walking down Rissik Street in central Johannesburg, when I met a friend of

my brother - who is today a leader in his profession - and he said to me "I am so

glad to see you. When I did not have the money you paid my train fare to

Johannesburg. Do you remember?" "Yes" I replied "it was a gift." "Well" he said "I

would like now to repay it - if you don't mind" and he handed me the money.

I knew that his hand was the hand of God. How propitious it was that I needed to

walk up Rissik Street, a street that I hardly ever used. There I was, wealthy! Now I

had my fulcrum. Was it "positive thinking?" No. It was my persistent held trust

that my need was met.

As I have said before, if a man and a woman have a tremendous desire to have a

child, and pray for a child, but do not cohabit, they will never get a child. Just so is

the union of mind and heart, the thinker and the feeler, necessary to demonstrate

your need, to answer your prayer. Thinking on its own is non-productive. Solomon

said "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." So, begin to feel the truth of your

affirmations, regardless of present conditions. There are no excuses. You have got

to think, feel, speak and act the fulfilment of your desire. It is like arithmetic - if

you want to resolve your problem you have to add, subtract, multiply and divide,

making no mistakes. Start rejoicing from the depths of your soul, giving sincere

thanks to God: "You are my protection, You are my guidance. You are my

prosperity fulfilled."

Do not listen to what people say. Why waste your time on their predictions of

failure when God is the Almighty, is Omnipresence. Live Truth, even though it

hurts.

Let me tell you about an experience I had many years ago. When I returned home

one evening I suddenly got an unbearable pain down the back of my neck, as

though a red-hot rod was being inserted there. It was impossible for me to lie

down, so I walked up and down all night holding my neck. In the early hours of the

morning I could bear it no longer and cried out "If there is a Jesus-Christ

Presence, help me!" Immediately, as one takes a sword out of a sheath, I felt

myself being taken out of my body, and there I was standing on top of my own

head looking down on myself. I thought I was going mad. I went to my study door

to open it, and there I still was, standing on top of myself looking down at myself -

and then I realised the pain had gone!

From a young age I had suffered from terrible headaches caused by nervous

tension. But from that day I ceased to have them. The doctor told me that the

dreadful pain I had experienced was a nerve being destroyed, setting me free.

You cannot think yourself into health, or happiness, or prosperity. You have

to become these God-qualities. You have to be as an actor on the stage of God and

accept in toto, and with feeling, that He is available, that He is in every cell of your

body as the fullness of All-power and All-knowledge. I believe I can speak now

with conviction, with authority and with the knowledge that comes from true

experience. I am eighty, and can say without hesitation that, throughout these past

fifty years lived in Truth, God has always saved me. Never, not once, has He

failed, even though I have been on the brink of failure many times.

But we fail Him. We do not have the courage to take Him on trust. Think of our

universe if you can, billions of light years in extent, and we are one with the

Whole, with all knowledge and Power. It is us, but we have to permit It to flow

through us. We are each like a tiny drop in the ocean, yet one with the whole of the

ocean. We have to be receptive, our minds and hearts open to the spiritual Presence

of Love, for love is the fulfilment of the Law. I have seen people so physically

warped that they were terrible to behold, and I have seen those same bodies made

whole, through Love. I have had to remind myself that what he or she has

accomplished I too can accomplish - as I have the same acceptance that they had.

Also many years ago a friend said to me "You teach abundance, but why do you

not have a car?" It was a good question. Buses and trains were my way of getting

around in those days. I had a nice home, I even had a garage, but no car. So I said

to myself "Why don't you simply believe that you have received one - it is what

you tell others to do." Then each morning I used to open my garage door, then the

gates, get into my imagined car, start it, reverse it out, get out and close the gates,

and get back into my car and drive off to the office. My wife used to watch me

from the window. One day she said to a friend who was with her "He's going

mental trying to believe that he has received a car." To me the bus became my car,

and I had a chauffeur driving me.

I play-acted like this for some time. Then one day I had to go to a neighbouring

town to see someone on business. On his desk he had a notice that read "Brand

new Plymouth Business Coupe - 200 pounds." I glanced at the sign and he said to

me "It really is brand new. It had done only eighteen hundred miles." I went on

with my business and then left. The following week when I returned the sign was

still there and I asked about the car. He told me it belonged to his daughter, that her

husband had died and that she could not drive. He asked me if I would like to see it

- it was a beautiful dove-grey coupe - and then we returned to his office. "Well?"

he asked. "It is a lovely car" I said "but I don't have the money." There and then he

phoned his daughter: "Mr. Campbell, you know him, is very interested in your car

but he doesn't have the money right now." His daughter replied that I should take it

and pay for it when I could, without interest.

I got in the car and drove home. I opened the gates, as I had so often practised, and

drove in. My wife came out and said "Where did you steal that car?" "I did not

steal it" I replied, "I bought it." "With what?" she asked. "I don't know yet" was my

answer to her, but at the end of that week I found out that 200 pounds had been

deposited into my savings account. To this day I do not know who did it.

Do you see how it works? "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Unless

you have the courage to take the practical steps, you will never have a real

demonstration. If you become aware of a need you must "with prayer and

thanksgiving make your need known to God." You do this for yourself, because

God knows what you need before you ask. Then you have to live in the

consciousness of your need fulfilled. It starts in the mind, and from there it goes

into the heart, then you speak of it and act as though it were true, and it manifests

itself. There is no time in God. God is the nowness of anything we could ever need.

The Lord is my shepherd, I cannot want. But I must do my part by giving of what I

want. If it is love that I want, I radiate happiness. If it is material supply that I

want, I give of my substance, no matter what the appearances may be. The measure

of my consciousness is the opening of my hand and letting go. It is not a game, it is

very serious. It means a whole life - a healthy body, a happy heart, and prosperity

to share and to spare.

So question yourselves, examine your minds and hearts. Do not blame

circumstances or personalities. "You are the temples of the living God" and He is

the same today as yesterday, and forever. God in the midst of us is almighty to

heal, to release, and to bless, but the keynote is not in the intellect - it is in the

heart. Love is my shepherd. It is love that makes me to lie down in green pastures,

that restores my soul. It is Love that puts supply into my hands. "Love ever gives,

forgives, outlives, and ever stands with open hands, and while it lives it gives, for

this is Love's prerogative, to give, forgive and give."

As it emanates through you, as you, people will seek you out. They will want to be

in your company because they feel secure with you. You are secure with God.

Use the 23rd Psalm with understanding when you awaken in the morning and you

will find every channel opened for use in terms of good, every door opened that

was closed. So go in peace with Him, in love with Him, knowing that your every

need and true desire is already fulfilled.
